ART: Suspended. Georgien/Russland. Begegnung auf einem anderen Terrain. (2009)

Suspended brings together works by Georgian and Russian artists in one catalog, demonstrating the solidarity prevailing between the shapers of culture in the two countries in times of political conflict. The artists from Georgia and Russia – among them Tamara K.E., Keti Kapanadze, Gia Edzgveradze, Yuri Albert, Vadim Zakharov, Ivan Chuikov – are not only well known in the contemporary art scene of their home countries, but are also represented at international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Documenta in Kassel as well as in the collections of major museums. The project's title Suspended refers to the free-flowing, sometimes difficult-to-define space in which artists position themselves and in the context of which their works are interpreted.
