Distant peaks Mt. Ararat

Mt Ararat (or Büyük Ağrı Dağı as it's locally known) is one of the many extinct volcanoes in this part of the Middle East. Towering above everything else in the area, it dominates the landscape for some distance around and is an impressive sight to the unsuspecting traveller. For an idea of scale, this was taken flying over Lake Van, over a hundred miles to the south-west.
