TBILISI: House of Azerbaijani public figure Nariman Narimanov knocked down in Tbilisi (anspress.com)

"A new museum of Nariman Narimanov will be constructed in Mirza Shafi Street in Tbilisi".

The house (later museum), where the Azerbaijani public figure Nariman Narimanov lived and all constructions around the area have been knocked down in Tbilisi.

Remind that, Azerbaijanis lived in this street of ancient Tbilisi which was named after Azerbaijani poet Mirza Shafi Vazeh. The Azerbaijanis lived in this area were moved to other districts and the name of Mirza Shafi is still remaining in the area knocked down under reason of dangerous structure.

Press service of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Georgia informed that the issue was investigated on the claim on compansation of an Azerbaijani residing in the aforesaid street and the compensations were paid in accordance with market prices.However several residents have problems related with compensations.

The Georgian company conducting construction work in the area told that the house of Nariman Narimanov was not purchased. The company will construct a new museum in Mirza Shafi Street. Azerbaijani architects will take part in the construction of the new museum as well.
