Temur Kvitelashvili: Guitar-Player

Temur Kvitelashvili was born in Tbilisi (Georgia), July 4, 1960. He began training to the play on a guitar independently, in the age of eleven years, short of several chords, which one he accepted from his brother Badri Kvitelashvili. He studied different musical styles, which one have included Classics, Jazz, Rock, Popular music, Flamenco, as well as his native traditional Georgian national music. Temur was the first guitarist in Georgia, which one began to make arrangement and transposition for a guitar of Georgian classics and Georgian modern music. Also he has made much transposition for a guitar of world Classics and compositions of the most miscellaneous styles. Simultaneously, Temur actively is engaged composer in activity. He remains to devoted unusual diversity of the repertoire, which one is fine has justified itself in past and which one he collects to be and hereafter.

Temur's musical career began per 15 years. He worked in many amateur collectives. Since 1979, till past solo career he cooperated to miscellaneous collectives, singers and instrumentalists, in miscellaneous directions:
Jazz-Band "Dielo" (1982-83),
VIA "Orera" (1984), Jazz-quintet of Alexander Kiladze (1985), Pop-Symphonic Orchestra of the Georgian Television (1986), Band "Theatron" (1986-87), Band "Tree of Desires" (1987-88), VIA "Iveria" (1988 - and to the present days), Tamara Gverdtsiteli (1986), Merab Sepashvili (1987), Soso Pavliashvili (1988-89),Nani Bregvadze (1994), Vakhtang Kikabidze (1994-2001), Michael Angelo (1995), Medea Dzidziguri (1997), Theatre Театр имени Veriko Anjapharidze (1998), Tamara Chokhonelidze (1999), Alexey Kozlov and band "Arsenal" (2000) and many by others.

In 1993, on a Central Television of Georgia in a broadcasting company "Droni" Temur was the writer and leading the musical-analytical program "Modern world guitar art".
In 1994 on International Competition of the Guitarists in Hollywood, Allan Holdsworth has called him is "the Best Guitarist of Year" in nomination "Fusion". (1995) After competition in Hollywood, Temur continue movement to high altitudes and has play together with the American guitarist - virtuoso Michael Angelo.
In 1996 he was called as "The Best Instrumentalist of Georgia ".
Temur prolongs to work for a television and radio and always is on the highest positions in a national rating.
His compositions hear at many theatres, cinema halls and even in advertising rollers. He became the laureate of numerous guitar and instrumental festivals.
In 1998 Temur has received a high estimation from an alive legend of reality Mstislav Rostrapovich, who has called him "... the great musician"
In 1998,Temur Kvitelashvili was the first Georgian guitarist, which one has given the big solo guitar concert, in a Main Music hall of the Georgian Philharmonic. For the invaluable contribution to development of art of a guitar and merit in the field of music,Temur Kvitelashvili was awarded with "Decoration of Honour", which one has handed over him President of Georgia, Eduard Shevardnadze in 1998.
Temur's name is included in the first issuing of the Georgian encyclopedia "who there is who" and encyclopedia "Tbilisi".
Temur Kvitelashvili went on tour on all Georgia and other former USSR republics, and also in USA, Canada, England, France, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Holland and many other countries.
