PHOTOS: Works by Elizabeth Eagen.

Photos by Elizabeth Eagen

Elizabeth Eagen uses a medium format Kiev camera that she bought in a flea market and had repaired in the basement of the old SakInform in Tbilisi, Georgia. It weighs a ton and takes 6x6 square photographs, 12 to a roll.
I'm inspired by the care it takes to use this camera, and by places that I travel. The square format dictates a different way of looking at the world, and the depth of field from large negatives makes details of a large landscape visible in the whole. Here I've reshot prints with a digital camera so they have a bit of the lomo look to them.
