(ruigphotography.com) As we count down the days to the Winter Olympic Games held this year in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, INSTITUTE artist Alexander Gronsky has been observing Russia putting the finishing touches on the resort, the ice rinks, the toboggan runs, the ski slopes and the athlete accommodation. The infrastructure and security is fully prepared to welcome the international competitors in the coming days.
A significant amount of security around Sochi is a stark reminder that their is an unfortunate expectation of sabotage and even terrorism. A 'ring of steel' is there to protect all visitors according to a games spokesperson.
All eyes will be looking at Russia for the next 6 weeks to pull off a memorable winter games for the able bodied and then the disabled athletes coming to compete.
