This ETHNOGRAPHICAL map of Caucasus Mountains

Features a reference of of the different ethnic groups in the area at the time. Caucasus Mountains, mountain range, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and southwest Russia, considered a boundary between Europe and Asia. The range extends from the Abseron Peninsula on the southwestern shore of the Caspian Sea to the mouth of the Kuban' River on the northeastern shore of the Black Sea. The western region is drained by the Kuban' River and the eastern portion by the Kura River. El'brus, Dykh-Tau, Koshtan-Tau, and Kazbek.

The map measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/4" has an image size of 8" X 11 1/2" and is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. Published by J. S. Virute & Co. Limited of London. The date for this map was established through correlation of the dates for the work of the publisher, artist and/or the engraver and is taken at the later end of the period for which the dates coincide. This map is circa 1880.
