On the occasion of the opening of a Local Democracy Agency in Kutaisi, Georgia, in June 2006, the Association of the Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA), international NGO based in the Council of Europe, will organize an Information Day entitled "Georgia: two years after the Rose Revolution." The objective is to analyze the democratic transition and the current developments in Georgia since the arrival of the new President Mikheil Sakashvili, in November 2003 and to present the new Local Democracy Agency, which is supported by the city of Strasbourg, to a large public.

Several experts will take stock of the current situation, representatives from local and national authorities in Georgia, international organisations, the media, NGOs as well as research institutes. The event will be opened by the Pascal Mangin who will represent the Mayor of Strasbourg, Fabienne Keller, and will end with a cultural performance.

Anlässlich der Eröffnung einer neuen Agentur für lokale Demokratie in Kutaisi, Georgien, organisiert der Verband der Agenturen für lokale Demokratie (ALDA), eine vom Europarat gegründete internationale Nichtregierungsorganisation, einen Informationstag zum Thema
"Georgien : Zwei Jahre nach der Rosenrevolution".

Ziel ist es, den Übergang zur Demokratie und die aktuellen Entwicklungen in Georgien seit dem Amtsantritt des neuen Präsidenten Mikheil Sakashvili zu diskutieren und analysieren. Außerdem wird ALDA die Arbeit der neuen Agentur der lokale Demokratie vorstellen, die von der Stadt Straßburg unterstützt wird. Diverse Redner werden Bilanz der aktuellen Lage in Georgien ziehen, darunter Vertreter von Kommunen, Regionen und nationalen Behörden, sowie von Ministerien, internationalen Organisationen, Medien, NROs und Forschungseinrichtungen. Die Veranstaltung endet mit einer kulturellen Darbietung.
