Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, Rena Effendi has documented the lives of ordinary people affected by the vast pipeline snaking its way through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
The project was supposed to improve their situation. But, Reni's photos tell a different story and show the real impact of the global demand for oil.

Rena's exhibition and book launch are part of the Buta Festival of Azerbaijani Arts in London, which runs until 7th March 2010.
