Erekle Street in Tbilisi

Tbilisi is not too big a city. Although for guests there are a lot of interesting places. Erekle street is one of these. To some it reminds Europe. Most probably that’s why it is virtually never empty. This small, but at the same time diverse street contains many interesting things. We’re going to show you where, what and why is situated on this small area.

Erekle II st. #3: The Journalist Federation

Erekle II st. #6: Gallery "Tevdore”, which is a constant exhibition of painting, handcrafted dolls and various handmade items. It opened quite recently and hosts the works of Irma Kaadze (dolls) and Lado Tevdoradze (painting).

The only one in the whole world, where visitors can see unique works of art exclusively in vitreous enamel.

Erekle II st. #8/10: Gallery "Free Time”
Bureau of festivity-related services. Design and organisation of weddings, exhibitions, showcases, interior, presentations and printing services. Visitors can also purchase works of talented contemporary artists: textile, decorative lighting, furniture, jewellery, clocks and so forth.

Erekle II st. #10: Bio shop, which offers guests ecologically clean biological products for health and beauty. Apart from that, you can have ecologically clean coffee, tea, juice and cake there. The shop is operational everyday except Monday from 10:00 to 18:00.

Erekle II st. #8/10: Restaurant "Kala", where live music and diverse Georgian and European cuisine create a pleasant atmosphere. The exterior, which is reminiscent of the café situated in Moscow, in the new "arbat”, is designed according to Guga Kotetishvili’s project.
Here you can listen to samba, jazz, blues, jazz-rock and at the same time enjoy the tuna salad, pineapple salad, "corrida”, "club” sandwich and many other dishes the restaurant has to offer.

Erekle II st. #10: Artistic textile shop "La Maison Bleue” is located on the second floor, which you can access from the yard. Here you can purchase dress cloths, decorative sanatebi and other works. Every one of them is hand-made, therefore – one of a kind.

Erekle II st. #11: For already 15 years, a dental clinic located at this address offers its patients therapy. Staff members: Lia and Nona.

Erekle II st. #11: A souvenir shop, where virtually every item that a foreigner might want to take as a keepsake is sold. Examples of applied art as well as items of everyday service are available. Only here you can find magnets with images of Tbilisi. The shop is working from 11am to 11pm. If contacted, the shop may offer individual service for tourist groups in special hours.


Erekle II st. #11: Club-restaurant and sushi bar "Agora" offers European and Japanese dishes. It consists of three storeys and offers visitors various services.
The first storey constitutes the sushi bar, the second – a café, while the third storey contains a restaurant of European style.
Every Friday and Saturday the "Modzraobis Teatri” (Movement Theater) band plays live at the restaurant.

Erekle II st. #13: Gallery "Didi”, which belongs to the painter Lika Kveselava. An avant-garde exhibition hall, which has existed for a long time and plans on continuing intensive operation in the future. Every creative person who truly loves art (painter, designer, etc.) will find this place suitable. Periodically, the exposition is being renewed. The gallery offers its visitors an atmosphere where they can have tea, coffee or juice and talk on the subject of their choice.

Erekle II st. #15: "Tiba” opens at 12 o’clock in the morning. This place amazes the visitors with its wide choice of stakes, as the menu changes daily. The speciality steak, however, is constant and is made using 16 different spices.

Erekle II st. #19: "Prego” is definitely the place for appreciators of Italian cuisine and consists of a restaurant and a pizzeria. It offers visitors a choice of approximately 120 different dishes and 40 types of pizzas. The wine menu is also special, as it contains several Prego’s own brands. Tel: (+995 32) 999723

Erekle II st. #21: Gallery "Dzveli Galerea" (Old Gallery). Visitors have the opportunity of browsing the works of free Georgian painters, and purchase some according to their wish.
