The member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are undergoing major change, and despite their many common features, there are also big differences between these countries as regards political, economic and social development. Accordingly, a flexible approach has to be taken in development assistance efforts.
Norway’s main priorities are to promote stable and sustainable political and economic development, Euro-Atlantic integration, good governance, democracy, human rights and gender equality in the region. In order to provide current and future cooperation partners with information on Norway’s priority areas, and to facilitate cooperation and contact between different actors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has prepared summaries of the measures it is supporting in the region.
These summaries include information on our cooperation partners, the aims for individual projects, the funding given and contact information.
Summaries have been prepared for the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. In addition, summaries have been prepared for regional projects in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
