(youtube.com) TeTe Noise: I don't have any philosophy, but all my life I've dreamt that i can fly, and that I know what it means to fly. In lots of dreams I leave earth. I often dream that I'm in a surrounded by people in tuxedoes, holding drinks in their hands, and I know I could shut them all up in one go. They don't want me there.Then I'm on tiptoes and I let myself go, I just take off and I end up on the ceiling. And then ... I swoop down to the floor and fly up again, and everyone says, "Oh!" Then I turn elegantly at the wall. I dream that the people are all speechless, watching me, a man, fly. Or I dream that I'm flying over mountains. That's a classic. My Music has shown it from the start. In the studio I close my eyes, I ave my hand on the fader, and I try to form the sounds. I send them through the speakers like a bird flying. That's not a philosophy, more like primitive dream to make the music fly because I'm flying.

Evy Schubert, director and photographer, living and working in Berlin, Germany, holds a screening on contemporary video performance and video art from Germany. The screening focusses on performance of the self in a social and or political context. Works by artists such as Bjoern Melhus, Herbert Fritsch, Shahram Entekhabi and Evy Schubert will be presented and discussed.

Evy Schubert, born in 1981 in Bremen, Germany, living and working in Berlin, got educated as a photographer at ‘Spéos Photographic Institute’, Paris, and as a director at the theatre ‘Volksbuehne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz’, Berlin. Furthermore she holds an academic degree in social sciences and communication science (BA, University of Erfurt) as well as theatre science (MA, Freie Universitaet Berlin).
Her work can be understood as a symbiosis of these fields in order to discover a sociological, political and/ or cultural phenomenon leading to an artistic result varying from video performance to still photography.
Currently Evy Schubert is working on a triptych of video performances that deal with the perception of time. In the first work of this circle “Ich warte nicht auf dich mit diesem Tag” (“I am not waiting for you with this day”) four elderly people demonstrate and reflect the stillness and usefulness of time and waiting at the in-between of life and death. This video performance is currently being post-produced. The second filmic work will be a direct answer to “Ich warte nicht auf dich mit diesem Tag” and will be realized throughout an artistic residency at GeoAIR in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Unsere Gesellschaft, die funktioniert, die so normal ist, zu ignorieren ... Avto Meskhi ist ein extremes Beispiel für diesen Fall.
Ein Mann, ... war ein enger Freund von Avto Varazi seit mehr als 20 Jahren. Seine Malerei ist völlig einzigartig, gemalt mit seiner eigenen Fantasie. Er wohnt in der Stadt als Obdachloser im Internat als Künstler und mit der Kunst - und das ganz bewusst, wie nur wenige in Georgien. Mit seiner Art abstrakter Malerei speichert er seine Interpretation der Wirklichkeit.
Dieses Video ist Herrn Avto Meskhi und seiner engen Freundschaft zu Avto Varazi gewidmet. Hoffentlich wird sich sein sozialer Status bald ändern, wird seine Arbeit mehr geschätzt ...more: tbcartarea.ge
