MUSIK: Klavierfestival Ruhr 2005 played by Irma Svanadze

Irma Svanadze played three years ago in Germany. On this videos you can see and listen a very impressive performance. I hope I can meet her anytime in Europe.

Irma Svanadze is member of the Toradze Piano Studio since September 2002, was born in Kutaisi (Republic of Georgia) and began her musical studies at the age of six with her mother. By the age of seven, she had already appeared in several concerts and festivals. While a student in Georgia, Irma was a winner of the Kutaisi Young Pianists Competition and the Georgia Young Pianists Competition. In 2000, she was invited to study in France and was awarded two gold medals at the National Conservatory of Saint-Maur (piano and chamber music). Irma additionally taught at the conservatory (one of the youngest to be so chosen). One year later, she was awarded the First Prize at the Saint-Maur National Conservatory and was later accepted to study with Yevgueni Mogilevsky at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. Irma regularly performs throughout Europe and the United States and is currently working on her Master of Music degree in piano performance at Indiana University, South Bend. Since joining the piano studio, Irma has appeared with Alexander Toradze and others from the Toradze Studio in the Ravenna Festival as well as the Ruhr Piano Festival (Germany) and the Steinway Hall in New-York City.
