Conciliation Resources (CR) is a dynamic international NGO that supports community-based and national organizations seeking to prevent or transform violent conflict into opportunities for just and sustainable human development.
Established in 1994, CR has programmes in the Caucasus, Uganda and Sudan borders, and West Africa where we work in partnership with local and international civil society organizations and governments.
CR also publishes Accord: an international review of peace initiatives and we are involved in projects in Colombia, Fiji, and the Philippines.
We are funded through grants from governments, independent trusts, and foundations. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead in the coordination, implementation and development of our Caucasus programme.
Reporting to, and working closely with, CR’s Director of Programmes, s/he will support the Caucasus team in pursuing CR’s goals of making a meaningful impact on policy and peacebuilding practice in the Caucasus region, with particular emphasis on the Georgian/Abkhaz and Nagorny Karabakh conflicts.
S/he will have primary responsibility for programmatic and financial management, and will lead a team of five staff plus consultants.
The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience in managing a diverse programme of activities, policy formulation, personnel and financial management, fundraising and advocacy.
S/he will have excellent communication skills, speak fluent Russian and have a sound understanding of the Caucasus region, organizational and community development and conflict transformation.
The post is full-time, 12 months fixed term.
