Georgians have almost as much stake in the outcome of the upcoming US Presidential elections as Americans themselves.
Ever since independence, the fledgling Georgian state has received from the Americans not only a great deal of economic and humanitarian assistance but also political backing and sympathy in its struggle for freedom and justice. Now more than ever, Georgia needs a strategic partnership with America to overcome the crisis with Russia, re-establish the long-term basis of regional and national security and resume promising regional economic projects under US guidance.
